As always, The Art of Loving Sex Shop cannot provide medical advice. It's always best to speak to a medical provider first if you're experiencing issues, so that they can point you in the right direction on how to treat your symptoms. However, we do offer a variety of products recommended by gynecologists to aid in your physical and sexual recovery.

Many women and people with vaginas experience pelvic floor dysfunction, and/or sexual dysfunction. It's not talked about enough in the mainstream!

The pelvic floor is a powerful little set of muscles that sits like a hammock between the tailbone and pubic bone. When healthy and toned they prepare your body for pregnancy, childbirth, and = aging. Pelvic floor exercise is recommended by health authorities around the world to prevent or treat pelvic floor problems, improving symptoms in over 70% of cases. The pelvic floor also plays an important role in supporting pregnancy and childbirth. More than half of new mothers experience bladder control and pelvic floor problems.

Kegel Balls are recommended by gynecologists, pelvic floor therapists, and doctors, when they assess that your pelvic floor is too loose. These balls are meant to be inserted vaginally, and are meant to strengthen the vaginal and pelvic muscles.

Another very common issue people with vaginas experience is vaginismus. Vaginismus is an involuntary tensing of the vagina. People experience it at the start of sex, while inserting a tampon or while getting a pelvic exam. Vaginismus can make intercourse painful (dyspareunia). Kegels and vaginal dilators can help relax muscles and stop spasms.
