You may have heard of sex toy company Dame, when they sued New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority for discrimination in advertising for refusing to let them run subway ads of their sexual wellness products, despite the NYC subways running ads for pills for erectile difficulties. Dame spoke out about the sexism, sex-negativity and suppression of free speech they felt was happening in advertising.
Through it's sexual wellness products, Dame is working to reduce the pleasure gap, based on a national survey, which found that folks assigned female sex at birth were reporting less amounts of satisfaction, pleasure, arousal, and orgasms with sexual activity compared to folks assigned male sex at birth.
